NUS CO-OP Textbook Prices: More Expensive Than Other Bookshops

If you are getting brand new textbooks, get it from Clementi Book Store. Don't believe the marketing crap about NUS Co-op bookshops being cheaper and giving further 5% discount. Which is a marketing gimmick to give you a omg-wow-awesome-discount feeling. Generally, most textbooks in NUS Co-op is more expensive than Clementi Book Store.

Board bus 96, alight at the bus stop before the Clementi MRT station (NOT at the Clementi MRT station stop), cross the junction towards NTUC, walk towards the MRT station. It is located beside the DBS branch.

Here's their full address - you can call them before going to check the availability of your textbook. Like NUS Co-op, they don't quote prices over the phone for some reason. And they require a minimum of $50 purchase if you want to pay by NETS. Not to fret, there is a DBS ATM beside the shop.

However, always try the IVLE Second Hand Used Textbooks Forum first. You may even find books with conditions very close to new! Tip: Make use of the SEARCH function, search for the title as well as the module code.

As a final note, Clement Book Store does not have every book so you should call and check before going. And I've seen prices for a few books to be more expensive there. So compare prices, and you may save five to ten dollars more.

NUS Co-op has a full refund policy whereby full refund is given before week 5 if students produced original receipt for textbooks bought cheaper from other book stores.

All retail stores will try to do certain special discounts for items that they sell. It is not possible for all book prices in the NUS Co-op to be lower than all other bookstores, because other bookstores may be doing special mark downs of prices for certain titles. The full refund policy is to ensure that students get full benefits. Please check this out with the NUS Co-op customer service counter.

Lastly, please remember to work in the member/student discounts to arrive at the final book prices at NUS Co-op. Most of the time, the prices after discount is very close to prices at the Clementi Bookstore, if not lower.

Thank you thank you! I'm a new grad student and was wondering how to cross-check book prices! So far I've only bought one book from CO-OP, glad i stumbled upon this.
But other things (stationery etc) reasonably priced?

Hi,

My question is not really related to this blog post. Do you know where to get past mid-term papers? Cos LINC only have exam papers excluding the midterms. Thanks.

@goodidae
Sorry, no such system for mid terms that I am aware of. you may want to ask friends who have taken the module before.

Yo, man. Found your blog via google.

Could you give me some insights about NUS Computing course? Are attendance necessary? Are there class participation marks? Are there cross disciplinary electives?

Thanks!

P.S: Why stopped updating?

That's not true. COOP is indeed cheaper than Clementi. At least I found that out via a Marketing textbook and a Business and Technical Communications textbook. further more, if you have a COOP membership, it will be 10% cheaper. Think of it this way, NUS COOP is to serve the student population(one of their objectives). Out-of-school bookshops needs to earn their profits thereby they need to raise the prices of some books.
